Griswold Film Splicer
Object ID: 2016.42.1
This Griswold film splicer was found in the Powell River Army Cadets bunkhouse at Timberlane.
Before video technology, if you wanted to make a film or even just edit a home movie with more than one clip, it was necessary to use a film splicer. A splicer holds the film in place for cutting the two clips to the right length and then attaching the ends to each other using an adhesive.
