SS Capilano Ship's Bell

This ship’s bell is from the SS Capilano, a freight and passenger ship built in 1891. It sank between Savary Island and Ahgykson Island at around 3 am October 2, 1915, after hitting an unidentified underwater object.
Its wreck was discovered by divers Richard McIntosh and Bob Briggs in 1971. It is now on the Canadian Register of Historic Places. McIntosh salvaged many artefacts, including this one, from the site. He donated these to the qathet Museum & Archives, where you can see them on display.
