Admission is by donation at this time. Recommended donation is $5 per person.

If in Powell River/Westview
  1. Take the Number 2/Grief Point bus. The closest bus station is Alberni & Algoma.

If in Townsite or further north:
  1. Take the Number 1/Townsite-Wildwood bus.
  2. Get off at Town Centre Mall
  3. Transfer to the Number 2/Grief Point bus. The closest bus station is Alberni & Algoma.

By Car
From Townsite or further north:
  1. Follow the Sunshine Coast Highway/British Columbia Highway 101 south.
  2. Go just past the Willingdon Beach Park.
  3. The Museum is located on the left-hand side of the road, across from the Logger Sports Bowl.

From Westview/Town Centre or further south:
  1. Follow the Sunshine Coast Highway/British Columbia Highway 101/Marine Avenue north.
  2. Cross the intersection of Marine Avenue and Alberni Street.
  3. The Museum is located on the right-hand side of the road, across from the Logger Sports Bowl.

Alternate Route:
  1. Travel north along Joyce Avenue
  2. Turn left onto Alberni Street.
  3. Turn right onto Marine Avenue.
  4. The Museum is located on the right-hand side of the road, across from the Logger Sports Bowl.

We are located next to Putter's Mini Golf and across the street from the Logger Sport Bowl. The Museum building is the building further up the hill with an unusual shape. It is NOT the Centennial Building.

Accessibility

The Museum has two accessible parking spots located next to the buildings.

There are wheelchair accessible doors around the side. Staff will be happy to open them up upon request.

At this point in time, the Museum does not have accessible washrooms available.

Contact us in advance of your visit if you have accessibility needs, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Service Animals
Service animals are welcome in all public-facing areas of the museum. We request guests with non-traditional service animals to contact the Museum in advance of their visit. Guests bringing a service animal without visible identification may be asked for documentation from a healthcare provider.

Plan Your Visit                                                                           
We expect visitors to spend anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour exploring the museum. We do not sell food on-site. Washrooms are available.
What can I Bring with Me?
Permitted Items
  • Strollers
  • Purses, baby bags, & small backpacks
  • Small, collapsible umbrellas if they can be carried in a pocket or small bag
Prohibited Items
  • Backpack-style child carriers, wagons, or other pull vehicles
  • Full size umbrellas
  • Photography selfie sticks, monopods, and tripods
  • Camera flashes
  • Pets (service animals excluding)
Photography
Photography is allowed ONLY if it is done without a flash. Photography is permitted for personal use only.
Museum Conduct
  • Children 12 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All visitors must wear shirts and shoes.
  • Unless you see a sign indicating a touchable object, please don’t touch objects on display. Even mild touching, over time, can cause damage.
  • Please don’t shout or run in the Museum. Swearing and other disrespectful language will not be tolerated.
  • qMAS is a smoke-free property. This includes smoking, vaping, or the use of cannabis in any form.
  • Please turn your cell phone to “silent” or “vibrate” and be considerate of others when using your phone.
  • Closing of the building begins 10 minutes before indicated times.
Health & Safety
  • Please approach any Museum staff member for assistance with First Aid or lost and found articles.
  • There are low ceilings throughout the building; please take care when carrying children.
Parents With Children
At qMAS, we hope to make the Museum an enjoyable place for people and families of all ages to visit.

Those who have young children will be able to make full use of "The Woodlands", our designated kid's zone. In The Woodlands, we provide children-sized seating and cushions, scavenger hunts for a variety of ages, colouring pages, and a selection of picture books. Your little one will be able to have just as much fun at the Museum as you will!
